Towards reducing the prevalence of discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria, HACEY Health Initiative organises a youth and media engagement forum
The forum is to commemorate the 2019 Zero Discrimination Day where representatives of different youth groups and media professionals will gather together to identify and take action on reducing the prevalence of discrimination in Nigeria.
The UN Zero Discrimination Day celebrated every March 1st since inception in 2014 is aimed at promoting everyone’s right to live a full life with dignity regardless of age, gender, sexuality, nationality, ethnicity, skin colour, height, weight, profession, education, and beliefs.
Zero Discrimination Day is annually celebrated by UN and other international organisations annually specially to combat discrimination against people living with HIV and AIDS. According to UNAIDS, Nigeria has the second largest HIV epidemic in the world and one of the highest rates of new infection in sub-Saharan Africa.
It is organised by HACEY Initiative and NiBUCCA with support from Access Bank
