A civil society organization, CSO, Connected Development (CODE), with support from the Open Society Initiative for Aest Africa (OSIWA) organized a two day training for School-based Management Committees (SBMCs) and State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in Borno state.
The training was opened on Wednesday at SUBEB office in Maiduguri by the CSO’s chief executive, Hamzat Lawal.
School administrators, headmasters and monitors, among others, were trained on how to track government and other spendings on education especially among elementary schools in grassroot communities.
The objective is to ensure that all appropriations meant for the education sector is adequately and efficiently utilized.
‘We are going to share with them how we follow the money and what are their roles and responsibilities because, they have to keep providing us with information as citizen to grow, so that we will have a better service delivery,’ Hamzat said.
The training lasted for two days with headmasters and school administrators derived from different schools in the state.
