The Federal Government has launched the “Hire From Nigeria” Campaign, an initiative designed to connect Nigerian professionals and businesses with international employers while positioning the country as a global source of skilled talent and digitally delivered services.

The campaign was officially unveiled on Monday, August 31, 2026, at a press conference held at Radio House, Abuja, with government officials and private-sector stakeholders highlighting the growing opportunities for Nigerians to work for international clients without leaving the country.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, said the initiative would place Nigeria’s human capital at the centre of the country’s engagement with the global economy.

Idris said Nigeria has a growing pool of professionals, a youthful population and expanding digital capabilities that can enable its workforce to compete for opportunities beyond the country.

He said the government’s goal is to ensure that Nigerian talent is discovered, trusted and connected to international demand as the global economy increasingly allows skills and professional services to cross borders digitally.

FG Targets Global Opportunities for Nigerian Talent

Idris said the global economy is creating new opportunities for knowledge, skills, creativity and professional services to be delivered across borders without the movement of physical goods.

He said Nigeria is well positioned to benefit from this shift because of its youthful population and growing number of skilled professionals.

According to him, the future of Nigeria’s economy will increasingly depend on the talent, creativity, skills and productivity of its people.

“Nigerian talent is ready to work. And the world should look to Nigeria,” Idris said.

He said the “Hire From Nigeria” campaign would help present Nigerian professionals and businesses to the international market while building confidence in the quality and reliability of services delivered from the country.

Government Unites Ministries, Private Sector to Drive Talent Export

The Minister said the campaign brings together the Federal Ministries of Industry, Trade and Investment and Education, the National Talent Export Programme (NATEP), iDICE and private-sector partners.

He described the initiative as a public-private collaboration designed to position Nigeria as a preferred global source of skilled talent and digitally delivered services.

Idris said the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation would use its communication platforms, agencies and partnerships to promote the campaign locally and internationally.

He said the ministry would work to ensure that the story of Nigerian talent is presented clearly and consistently to potential employers, investors and international markets.

According to him, the campaign is expected to strengthen global confidence in Nigerian professionals and businesses while improving their visibility in the international economy.

FG Moves to Equip Nigerians With Skills for Global Jobs

The Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, said the Federal Ministry of Education is strengthening Nigeria’s talent pipeline through curriculum reforms, technical and vocational education, digital skills development and industry-focused training.

Alausa said the objective is to ensure that Nigerians acquire the skills and certifications required to compete for employment opportunities in international markets.

He said the government wants Nigerian workers to be trained and prepared to meet the requirements of employers regardless of where those employers are located.

The education minister said improving the quality and relevance of training would make it easier for Nigerian professionals to meet global standards.

The campaign is therefore expected to work alongside ongoing skills development efforts to prepare more Nigerians for jobs in areas where international demand for talent is growing.

‘Hire From Nigeria’ Targets Jobs, Exports and Global Market Access

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, said the campaign is intended to translate Nigeria’s demographic strength into jobs, exports and investment.

Oduwole described “Hire From Nigeria” as more than a communications campaign, saying it represents a national economic proposition aimed at connecting Nigerian capabilities with global demand.

She said the initiative would be taken to the global stage at the 81st United Nations General Assembly to promote Nigeria as a competitive source of talent and digitally delivered services.

The Senior Special Assistant on Strategic Communications and NATEP, Mrs. Olajumoke Dan-Okayi, said the campaign would address three major barriers facing Nigerian talent: discoverability, trust and global access.

She said the initiative would make Nigeria easier to discover, Nigerian talent easier to trust and Nigerian professionals easier to hire.

The Founder and President of Tech4Dev, Mr. Joel Ogunsola, said the campaign would help connect Nigeria’s large talent pool with international demand, stressing that skills without access to opportunities could become wasted potential.

The Federal Government said the “Hire From Nigeria” Campaign is expected to connect Nigerian professionals, service providers and businesses with global employers, outsourcing companies, investors and international markets as part of its broader talent and services export agenda.
