The Federal Government has officially launched a food and nutrition distribution program across several states, beginning its initial rollout in Borno State. The initiative is designed to provide critical relief to vulnerable households currently struggling with the dual impacts of ongoing conflict and the loss of traditional livelihoods.
The program aims to stabilize food security in regions hit hardest by instability, ensuring that displaced families and those in underserved communities receive essential supplies.
According to the FG, the distribution program will represents a vital step in our commitment to supporting citizens who have been disproportionately affected by conflict. By starting in Borno State, they are therefore addressing the immediate needs of those who have lost their livelihoods, ensuring that no household is left behind in our effort to provide basic nutritional security.
Following the initial phase in Borno, the government plans to extend the distribution network to other affected states throughout the federation to broaden the reach of its humanitarian support.
