Mrs. Ayodeji Fajemirokun, a technology consultant has fully resumed office as the first female Chairperson of West Africa Civil Society Institute.
Mrs Fajemirokun resumed duty as she chaired her first board meeting at WACSI in her capacity as the board chairperson.
Mrs. Fajemirokun joined the board in April 2016 and was voted by board members as the board’s chairperson in December 2019.
She took over from Professor John Igue who joined the board in October 2012 and was voted board chair in April 2013.
She expressed her delight in the new position as she also hailed the board’s satisfaction on the work WACSI is doing as she chaired the first board meeting of 2020 on Thursday 28, 2020.
Mrs. Fajemirokun, an electrical engineer who has served as a technology consultant to donor agencies and government parastatals across West Africa also works as the director-general of the Easyduzit Group, an information, communication and technology firm with operations in Benin and Nigeria.
She is a prominent advocate for regional integration and development especially for women entrepreneurs. She has been illustrious in initiating various programmes across the ECOWAS countries with the aim of facilitating women’s access to business opportunities in the region.
Mrs. Fajemirokun is the Executive Director of OAK Centre, Benin where she dedicates her time to promoting family values, unity and core purpose through education, entertainment and recreation.
She brings to the WACSI board extensive experience in shared governance, grants development, fundraising, strategic planning, outcomes assessment and resources allocation for social good.
Mrs. Fajemirokun is happy to take up this role in leading the team of West African experts who are providing oversight guidance to WACSI
