The African Union has congratulated the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) on its silver jubilee, marking 25 years of advancing Africa’s development and integration agenda.

In a statement, the AU commended AUDA-NEPAD for its sustained contributions to the continent’s growth over the past two and a half decades, particularly through the implementation of key development programmes across member states.

The agency has played a central role in driving continental priorities in critical sectors such as infrastructure, agriculture, health, trade, climate resilience, and youth empowerment.

According to the African Union, AUDA-NEPAD’s work has remained instrumental in translating the vision of the AU into practical, results-oriented development initiatives that impact millions of Africans.

The statement noted that the milestone reflects the African Union’s continued commitment to African-led development, regional cooperation, and integration across the continent.

It also reaffirmed support for the implementation of Agenda 2063, describing it as the blueprint for “The Africa We Want”—a prosperous, integrated, and peaceful continent driven by its own people and resources.

AUDA-NEPAD, as the development agency of the African Union, is responsible for coordinating and implementing major continental programmes aimed at accelerating sustainable development and economic transformation.

The AU reiterated its commitment to strengthening AUDA-NEPAD’s capacity to deliver on its mandate as the continent continues to pursue long-term development and integration goals.
