Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the reopening of its membership electronic registration exercise across Nigeria as the party begins preparations.

The exercise is scheduled to resume on Monday, August 31, 2026, and will be conducted across all wards nationwide.

Existing and New Members Eligible

In a statement issued on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, CON, said existing members are expected to validate their membership details, while new and intending members can use the exercise to join the party.

The party urged its stakeholders, supporters and members to take part in the registration exercise.

According to the statement, registrants must be at least 18 years old and have a valid National Identification Number (NIN).

APC Moves to Digitise Membership Records

The APC said the electronic registration is aimed at digitising its membership register and improving the management of membership records.

The party said the exercise would also help ensure the integrity of membership data, provide easier access to records for planning and decision-making, and strengthen internal democratic processes.

The APC further said the initiative reflects its commitment to using digital systems to improve political party administration and democratic innovation in Nigeria.
