Women of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South-South are demanding for 50 per cent Affirmative Action from the party’s presidential hopeful, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Leading the call is the wife of the Cross River State Governor, Linda Ayade, who briefed journalists in her office on Thursday in Calabar, the state capital said Tinubu’s track record shows he is a leader known to provide opportunities for women.
The Cross River First lady said with the political will, population and voting strength that women have, demanding for fifty percent of positions in government is not too much to request from their presidential candidate.
She called on those yet to collect their Permanent Voter Registration card to do so without delay.
Women of the All Progressives Congress from Cross River, Rivers, Bayelsa, Edo, Akwa Ibom and Delta are expected to attend the rally.
